This district was carved from Sidhi in 2008; the only part of Sidhi the Order names, the Kusmi tribal development block, stayed in Sidhi. C.O. 192 fixes its area by reference to territorial divisions as existing at 20 February 2003, and a district drawn later does not change the ground the Order scheduled. No part of the ground the Order scheduled passed to this district, so no part of it is a Scheduled Area under that Order. The Ministry of Panchayati Raj's list of notified Fifth Schedule Areas does not name it either.
